Querido filho Manoel Joaquim,
Escrevo-te esta linha para que saibas que a mãe está viva. Vou escrever bem devagar, pois sei que não consegues ler depressa. Caso estejas sem tempo de escrever à mãe, manda uma carta dizendo que quando estiveres mais tranqüilo vais mandar notícias. Se tu viesses hoje aqui em casa não irias reconhecer mais nada, porque mudamos.
Temos agora uma máquina de lavar roupa. Mas não trabalha muito bem. Na semana passada coloquei lá 14 camisas, apertei o botão e nunca mais as vi. Vai ver que esta marca Hydra não é lá das melhores.
Tua irmã Maria está grávida. Mas ainda não sabemos se vai ser menino ou menina.
Portanto, não podemos te dizer se vais ser tio ou tia.
Teu pai arranjou um bom emprego. Tem 2300 homens abaixo dele. É o responsável pelo corte da grama do cemitério.
Quem anda sumido é teu tio Venâncio, que morreu no ano passado.
Lembra-te do teu tio Joaquim? Então... afogou-se no mês passado num depósito de vinho. Oito compadres dele tentaram salvá-lo, mas o tio lutou bravamente contra eles. O corpo foi cremado há duas semanas. Levaram oito dias para apagar o incêndio.
Os engarrafadores de refrigerante aqui finalmente tiveram a grande idéia de colocar uma indicação na tampinha, dizendo "abra por aqui". Facilitou-nos muito a vida. Espero que os daí façam a mesma coisa. Caso esteja difícil para ti, a mãe te manda algumas garrafas.
Teu irmão, João Manuel, continua o mesmo de sempre. Semana passada fechou o carro com as chaves dentro. Perdeu um tempão indo até a casa pegar a cópia da chave, para poder tirar-nos todos de dentro do automóvel. Estava um calor de rachar.
Por falar em calor, o tempo aqui está muito estranho. Esta semana só choveu duas vezes. Na primeira vez choveu durante 3 dias e na segunda vez choveu durante 4 dias.
Esta carta te mando através do Gabriel, que vai amanhã para aí. A propósito, será que podes pegá-lo no aeroporto?
Lembrei de uma coisa importante. Terás um problema para falar com a mãe, caso decidas
escrever-me. Não sei o endereço desta casa nova. A família que morou aqui antes de nós era portuguesa também, levou a placa da rua e o número da casa para não precisar mudar de endereço.
Se encontrares Teresa, dê-lhe um alô da minha parte. Caso não a encontres, não precisas dizer nada.

En caso de que usted esté sin tiempo de escribir a la madre, pida una carta que diga que cuando usted esté más tranquilo usted pedirá las noticias. Si usted viniera hoy aquí casa que usted no reconocería nada más, porque nosotros cambiamos.
Nosotros tenemos una lavadora ahora. Pero ella no trabaja muy bien. En la semana pasada yo puse 14 camisas en ella, yo apreté el botón y yo no las vi nunca más. Es posible que esta marca Hydra no es de las mejores.
Su hermana Maria está embarazada. Pero nosotros todavia no sabemos si será él o ella. Por consiguiente, nosotros no podemos decirle si usted será tío o tía.
Su padre fue contratado para un trabajo bueno. Él tiene 2300 hombres abajo de él. Es el responsable por el corte del gramo del cementerio.

Su hermano, João Manuel, continúa el mismo de siempre. La semana pasada él cerró el automóvil con las llaves dentro. Perdió mucho tiempo para ir a la casa coger la copia de la llave y quitar todos nosotros desde dentro del automóvil. Era un calor de henderse.
Hablando sobre calor, el tiempo aquí es muy extraño. Esta semana sólo llovió dos veces. En la primera vez llovió durante 3 días y en la segundo vez llovió durante 4 días.
Esta carta que yo envío a usted se va través de Gabriel que sigue mañana para ahí. ¿Por oportuno, será que usted puede cogerlo en el aeropuerto?
Yo recordé una cosa importante. Usted tendrá un problema para hablar con la madre, en caso de que usted decide escribirme. Yo no sé la dirección de esta nueva casa. La familia que vivió aquí ante de nosotros también era portuguesa, ellos llevaron el plato de la calle y el número de la casa para no necesitar de cambiarense de domicilio.
Si usted encuentrar la Teresa, déla un hola de mi parte. En caso de que usted no la encuentre, usted no necesita decirle nada.

Ich schreibe dir diese Linie, damit du wissest, daß die Mutter am Leben ist. Ich werde sehr langsam schreiben, weil ich weiß, daß du nicht gut Fasten zu lesen bist. Falls du ohne Zeit bist an die Mutter zu schreiben, bestellst du einen Brief, der sagt, daß, wenn du ruhiger bist, daß du Nachrichten befehlen werden. Wenn du heute hier kämest, kehrest du zurück, du würdest sonst noch etwas nicht erkennen, weil wir uns veränderten.
Wir haben jetzt eine Waschmaschine. Aber es arbeitet nicht sehr gut. Letzte Woche, setzte ich da drüben 14 Hemden, drückte ich den Knopf, und ich sah sie nie wieder. Es ist möglich, daß dieser Fleck Hydra nicht vom besten ist.
Deine Schwester Maria ist schwanger. Aber wir beruhigen noch nicht was werden können: ob er oder sie sein werden. Deshalb können wir es dir nicht mitteilen, ob du Onkel oder Tante sein werden.
Dein Vater arrangierte eine gute Arbeit. Er hat 2300 Männer unter ihm. Er ist das Verantwortliche für den Schnitt vom Gramm des Friedhofes.

Ich hoffe, daß die Leute von dann die gleiche Sache machen. Falls es schwierig für du bist, bestellt die Mutter dir einige Flaschen.
Dein Bruder, João Manuel, setzt die Gleichen immer davon fort. Letzte Woche schloß er innen das Auto mit den Schlüsseln. Er verlor eine lange Zeit mit der Gehen zum Haus, um die Kopie des Schlüssels zu fangen, und alles von uns von innerhalb vom Auto zu entfernen. Es war eine Hitze endlos.
Über Hitze sprechend, ist die Zeit hier sehr seltsam. Diese Woche regnete nur zweimal. In dem ersten Mal regnete es 3 Tage lang und im zweiten Mal es regnete 4 Tage lang.
Dieser Brief ich durch Gabriel zu dir bestelle, er geht morgen für dort. Apropos, ob du ihn im Flughafen fangen können?
Ich erinnerte mich an eine wichtige Sache. Du werdest ein Problem haben, mit der Mutter zu sprechen, falls Sie sich entscheidet, mir zu schreiben. Ich kenne nicht die Adresse dieses neue Haus. Die letzte Familie, die, vor uns, hier lebte, war auch portugiesische, sie nahmen den Teller der Straße und die Anzahl der Häuser absichtlich für das müssend sich von Adresse nicht verändern.
