Africa is the 2nd largest Continent in the world in terms of size as well as population. It has around one-fifth of the world’s landmass and around 16% of its population. Even though Africa might not be the largest continent in terms of land or population, but it has the unique distinction of having the highest number of countries in any continent.

There are a total of 54 countries in Africa. However, the number of capital cities in Africa is higher. There are 58 capital cities in Africa. This is because there are 3 countries in Africa that have more than 1 capital cities. There is South Africa with Cape Town as its legislative capital, Pretoria as its administrative capital, and Bloemfontein as its judicial capital.

Equatorial Guinea, a country located on the west coast of central Africa, has Malabo as the de jure (based on law) capital and Oyala as the seat of the government. The third is Eswatini, which is more commonly known as Swaziland. Mbabane is the administrative capital of Eswatini and Lobamba is the legislative or royal capital.

Africa is a less economically developed nation but many of its capital cities are popular tourist destinations. Some of the popular capitals of Africa include Egypt’s capital Cairo, Senegal’s capital Dakar and Kenya’s capital Nairobi. Other major tourist attractions are Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius, Victoria, the capital of Seychelles, Tunis the capital of Tunisia etc. Africa is home to some of the most beautiful and colourful places on the planet. O texto tem utilidade para o leitor. Mas tenho duas observações a fazer. Primeira: na listagem dos países africanos aqui exibida falta um país importante que é a República Democrática do Congo, com a capital em Kinshasa. É um país com 2.345.000 Km2 de superfície e 92.380.000 de habitantes. Segunda observação: ao apresentar sob os nn. 13 e 24 a Costa do Marfim, observamos que seria mais lógico dentro do conceito de ordem alfabética adotado pelo autor da listagem que se apresentasse sob o n. 13 Cote d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) e não o contrário: Ivory Coast (Cote d'Ivoire).
