James Buchanan and Grover Cleveland were bachelors when they entered the White House. Buchanan never married and there are some indications that he may have been gay — we will never know for sure. Cleveland was a womanizer who had fathered a child out of wedlock. During his first term Cleveland, 49, married a 21-year-old woman named Frances Folsom. Cleveland was friends with her parents and had known her since she was an infant. They remained married until Grover Cleveland died in 1908 at the age of 71.
